Did you know... that the Kwak glass was invented by the Belgian innkeeper Pauwel Kwak. He was also a brewer in the late 1700s and early 1800s and the owner of the Inn De Hoorn (near Brussels). The idea behind the glass is not just to have a different glass that stands out amongst other brands. There is a bit of history involved. He designed the glass because back then, mail coaches stopped at the De Hoorn Inn everyday, but the coachmen were not allowed to leave their Coach and horses unattended. The inventive innkeeper took pity on the coachmen and had a unique Kwak glass blown that could be hung on the coach. This enabled the coachmen to quench their thirst...
